LAUREN RUDICK

E-RYT 200, RYT 500

Lauren’s love of yoga has taken her around the world. She has studied, taught and practiced yoga across 4 continents and over a dozen countries. Her initial introduction to yoga came through her local Y where she started classes when she was in university. Eager to learn more about the pursuit of happiness that her yoga teachers seemed to enjoy, Lauren attended the Yandara Yoga Institute where she completed her initial instructor training. Following subsequent travels, she completed a 500 hour yoga teaching certification in Australia under the guidance of Peter Clifford. Today Lauren continues to study yoga with teachers who inspire her including Seane Corn, Chris Chavez, Rodney Yee, and Susan Cohen.

Lauren’s dynamic and upbeat classes are infused with humor, positivity and joy helping her students build confidence on and off the mat. Hailing from Montreal, She has found a unique niche in the Canadian market, teaching “Yoga for Hockey Players” designed to help improve strength and flexibility in areas often problematic for athletes. Lauren is currently based out of Montreal, but continues to give classes internationally at retreats, conferences and festivals.

When not teaching yoga, Lauren expresses her creative side through her jewelry line and contributes articles to online blogs such as MyYogaOnline and MindBodyGreen. Otherwise she can be found, snowboarding, beachbuming, hiking or snuggling her dog Julius.

Avigna (Avighna) is one of the names of Hindu elephant-headed deity Ganesh, the destroyer of obstacles. Lauren’s joyful and lighthearted approach to yoga helps her face challenges, move through them and feel connected, grounded, and happy within. Through her teachings she hopes to pass on the contentment and exuberance that she experiences every day as she destroys the obstacles in her life with the aid of her yoga practice.
