Yoga for Hockey Players

Yoga for hockey players with Lauren Rudick

Yoga for hockey players is a specialized sequence designed specifically to address issues athletes face when playing hockey.  Attention is given toward improving range of movement in hips, groins and hip flexors. Hamstring stretches help prevent pulls and tears. Twists and lateral stretches aid with slap-shots. Neck stretches and strengthening exercises reduce the risk of concussion. A strong emphasis is placed on core stability and isolation in order to improve speed and efficiency of skating. Balances, squats and lunges help with break-away skating, stamina and shooting.

Yoga for hockey players with Lauren RudickEvery fall, Lauren offers an ongoing series of Yoga for Hockey Players in Montreal. Classes are drop-in and offered as a pack of ten. She also travels, teaching Yoga for Hockey Players to teams and individual players outside of Montreal. In her workshops, she introduces players to her Yoga for Hockey Players series and demonstrates how to integrate specific yoga poses into current training routines.  Lauren also delivers a bank of rehabilitative yoga exercises for common hockey injuries, as well as passive stretches that can be done while watching the game!  For a quick peek at some yoga poses to help improve your game, click here.
